St. Brigid Sterling Cross

Tradition teaches that this cross originated in Ireland in the 5th century when Saint Brigid was at the deathbed of a pagan chieftain in Kildare whose family had sent for her to talk to him about Christ. As the holy nun sat by the side of the delerious man she picked up some rushes from the floor and began to weave them into a cross. The sick man calmed down and inquired what she was doing, and at Saint Brigid's explanation he was converted and was baptized at the point of death. 1 3/8" long.
