Saint Cyril of Jerusalem Original Icon



Honored as one of the Doctors of the Church, Saint Cyril's writings remain today an integral part of Christian instruction. Undergoing exile and persecution at the hands of heretical bishops, Saint Cyril was later restored to his episcopal see, and made important contributions to the the definition of Christian doctrine in the early Church councils.

This icon is painted on 1/4-inch non-tempered artist's hardboard measuring 11" x 14". The artist used matte fluid acrylics which replicate classic egg tempera. The background is painted. Shipping and handling $36.00. Created in the year 1994 by Brother Simeon Davis, the painting includes the artist's "signature" in tiny letters: "By the hand of Simeon 1994" as is traditional in iconography.
