St. Barbara icon
St. Barbara lived in the 4th century and was brought up as a heathen. She was denounced to the pagan authorities by her father himself when he learned she had converted to Christianity, and was beheaded by her father when she refused to recant. These saint icons depict the martyr and patron saint of miners and artillerymen. For that reason she is popular in many cultures.
